The Tampakan Copper - Gold Project is a large scale mine development project at feasibility stage. It is located approximately 65 km north-northwest of General Santos City on the island of Mindanao and is managed by Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI).
General Santos has a population of approximately 500,000 people and is accessed by sealed highways, a major deep water port within Sarangani Bay and a modern international airport.
Community Sustainability Officers (3)
These are 3-year project roles tasked to ensure effective implementation, field monitoring, and evaluation of SMI’s 3-year community development programs in identified communities within the Tampakan Copper-Gold Project’s on-site and off-site areas.
Key responsibilities :
Ensure effective implementation of a comprehensive, robust, and sustainable community development strategy according to the 3-year work program.
Institute an effective system in identifying community issues, needs, and problems, develop strategies and programs for implementation; and manage execution as agreed.
Establish and sustain productive networks and collaborative partnerships with government, communities, civil society institutions, and the private sector to support community development and other concerns relevant to the project needs.
Monitor outcomes and impacts of community development programs and ensure accurate and timely delivery of required reports.
Key requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Management Accountancy, or related course
At least 5 years experience in community enterprise development and management
Experience in promoting institutional and community based development programs for both indigenous and non indigenous groups
Demonstrated expertise in community and for community based organizations
Familiar with marketing and negotiations requirements to promote enterprise management
Adept at project proposal preparation, activity design preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
Good networking and facilitation competencies
Strong communication skills; aility to understand and speak the B’laan dialect is an advantage
Proficient in MS Office operation
